Trucking Company Owner Charged with Failing to Carry Comp

The owner of an Erie, Pa., trucking company that hauled mail for the U.S. Postal Service is facing criminal charges for failing to carry workers' compensation insurance, The Erie Times-News reported Saturday.The newspaper said Douglas A. Pifer, 53, was arraigned in Greene Township, Pa., Friday on 10 counts of failing to insure and one count of theft by failure to make required disposition of funds.William McKee, an investigator with the state Attorney General's Office said Pifer, owner of Douglas A.
