City officials in San Diego are considering taking $28.8 million out of the workers’ compensation reserve to help close a reported $50 million budget deficit.
The San Diego Union-Tribune reports that the City Council’s Budget and Government Efficiency Committee unanimously approved a proposal to cut in half the amount held in reserve to pay for comp claims as part of an effort to address the budget shortfall.
