A Sacramento insurance salesman on Thursday was ordered to serve one year and eight months in jail after being convicted in two Northern California counties of diverting insurance premiums into his personal bank accounts.Russell Joseph Sage, 39, was convicted in Marin County of theft by false pretense for charging a San Rafael substance abuse facility $30,000 in broker fees that prosecutors say were already included in the $500,000 workers’ compensation policy he placed in 2012, according to a report by the Marin Independent Journal.Sage was also convicted in Yolo County for depositing i...
