OSHA Fines Eight Contractors $114,625

The Occupational Safety and Health Administration cited eight contractors with fines totaling $114,625 for alleged safety violations in construction of a Kohl's Department Store in Beckley, W.Va. OSHA began an inspection in October in response to a complaint alleging a lack of fall protection at the work site. Easely and Rivers of Morgantown, W.Va., received one willful violation and one serious violation with penalties of $68,600 for alleged lack of fall protection from a roof and failure to use a ladder to access a roof.
