Medical providers in Connecticut will be required to check the state's prescription drug monitoring program database before prescribing greater than a 72-hour supply of any controlled substance, under a bill signed into law by Gov. Dannel Malloy on Wednesday.
Both chambers of the Connecticut Legislature voted unanimously to pass House Bill 6856, which implements a portion of Malloy's budget recommendations.
