Montana lawmakers have introduced bills to deny workers' compensation benefits for those not authorized to work in the country and suspend business licenses for the employers that hire them.
Rep. Nelly Nicol, R-Billings, on Wednesday introduced HB 805, which would preclude unauthorized workers from receiving workers' compensation benefits and require carriers to terminate benefits if any claimant regardless of citizenship status or authorization to work leaves the country or specified territories while a claim is pending or open.
