NIOSH Report: Put Earplugs In When Letting Dogs Out

The National Institute of Occupational Safety and Health issued findings that suggested managers of animal shelters establish hearing loss prevention programs and require the use of earplugs in noisy kennel areas. NIOSH's Health Hazard Evaluation Report centered on the Louisiana Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals (LA/SPCA) and found that three of the 33 employees suffered from hearing loss.
