Horace Mann Educators Corporation (NYSE: HMN) yesterday reported a net loss of $12.6 million (30 cents per share) and net income of $28.0 million (65 cents per share), respectively, for the three and nine months ended September 30, 2004, compared to net losses of $14.3 million (34 cents per share) and $4.1 million (10 cents per share) for the same periods in 2003.
