Poochigian Pushes Plan to Delay CA Increases

California Senator Chuck Poochigian, R-Fresno, unveiled a plan yesterday to delay the implementation of the increases in workers' compensation indemnity schedules instituted by AB 749.Stating that businesses are a "new class of victims in this state", Poochigian wants to delay the increases until the state pulls out of its current economic recession. He says that the new work comp rates, in addition to other laws such as new ones affecting farm-labor, are "job killers" that the state cannot afford at this time.
