The U.S. Occupational Safety and Health Administration has extended the comment period until Oct. 14 for a proposed rule that seeks to improve tracking of workplace injuries and illnesses by requiring employers to electronically submit injury and illness reports.
The proposed rule was published on Nov. 8, 2013.
OSHA said that during the public meeting held on the proposal, many participants expressed concern that the proposal may create motivation for employers to under-record injuries and illnesses, since each covered establishment's injury and illness data would become publicly availab...
