OSHA Orders Reinstatement of Truck Driver

The U.S. Department of Labor's Occupational Safety and Health Administration ordered Terry Unrein, an independent trucking contractor in Southern Oregon, to reinstate a driver fired in late 2011 for refusing to drive a semi-trailer with inadequate tread on the tires. Operating the truck with nearly-bald tires would have violated federal Department of Transportation regulations, the agency said in a statement.
