Contractor Faces Felony Theft Charge From Alleged Comp Scam

The Washington State Department of Labor and Industries announced that a contractor allegedly caught remodeling homes while claiming he was too hurt to work was charged with felony theft. Terry Lee Dawson, 62, is accused of stealing more than $55,000 in work comp benefits over a four-year period that started in September 2016. Dawson had been receiving indemnity benefits off and on since 2003 for a back injury he sustained while working as a carpenter.
