Injured workers in New York will now have the option of receiving benefit payments through direct bank deposit after Gov. Andrew Cuomo signed Assembly Bill 7579 into law.
The law that took effect when it was signed Wednesday requires payers give claimants the option of having benefits deposited directly into their bank accounts. Previous law left it to the insurer or employer to choose to provide direct deposit.
