Governor Signs Emergency Regulations to Stop Drug Abuse

Kentucky Gov. Steve Beshear has signed emergency regulations in an attempt to stop drug abuse in the state, according to an Associated Press (AP) report on July 26.The AP reports the emergency regulations require doctors to meet tougher prescription standards.  The rules, which were given to state boards that oversee the medical industry last week, were presented to lawmakers on July 24 and will remain in effect until permanent regulations are adopted, the report said. The Courier-Journal reported July 25 that under the order, pain clinics will be more regulated and doctors are requi...
