Back-to-Back Injuries at Poultry Plant Yield $88,000 Fine

In March, a 42-year-old man on his shift at the Koch Foods poultry plant in Mississippi lacerated his finger after his glove got caught in a conveyor. One month later, a 23-year-old woman broke two fingers while attempting to clear a jam in a gizzard chiller. Federal safety inspections of the Morton facility conducted after the incidents uncovered electrical shock hazards, fall hazards and inadequate machine guards, among other issues.
