DLI: Work Fatality Rate Unchanged in 2022

The Minnesota Department of Labor and Industry said the annual Census of Fatal Occupational Injuries for 2022 shows no change in the state’s fatal injury rate. There were 81 fatal work injuries in Minnesota in 2022, up one from 80 in 2021. The 2022 fatal injury rate was 2.8 deaths per 100,000 full-time equivalent workers, the same as in 2021. Agriculture, forestry, fishing and hunting recorded the highest number of worker fatalities, with 20 cases in 2022. There were 11 deaths among these workers the year before.
