OSHA Fines Oak Harbor for Retaliating against Workers

Over a year after the Occupational Safety and Health Administration fined a Seattle-based trucking company for retaliating against its workers who refused to drive when they felt ill or fatigued, the administration is fining the company over $20,000 for similar actions.  Oak Harbor Freight Lines allegedly suspended a 25-year commercial truck operator without pay after he reused to drive because he felt ill, a right afforded to drivers under the Surface Transportation Safety Act.  The driver filed a whistleblower complaint, which prompted an investigation by OSHA that ...
