A policy committee in the California Senate passed a bill that would require contractors certify the class codes on their workers’ compensation policy when applying for and renewing licenses.
The Senate Committee on Business, Professions and Economic Development on Monday voted 12-0 to pass Assembly Bill 336, by Assemblymember Sabrina Cervantes, D-Riverside.
In addition to requiring contractors to tell the Contractors State License Board the class codes they used when getting work comp insurance, the bill would require CSLB to post that information online.
