Benefits Now Can Be Paid by Check or Electronically

Gov. Henry McMaster has signed into law a measure that allows payment of workers' compensation benefits by check or by an electronic payment system.  The Senate passed H.3441 by a 36-0 vote May 2, and the House unanimously passed the bill Jan. 26. H.3441 allows an employer's representative to make workers’ compensation payments by check, direct deposit, an electronic funds transfer or debit card. It became effective on Friday.
