A California appellate court ruled that a San Francisco firefighter who suffered catastrophic injuries when a bus drove through an active emergency scene could not bring a civil suit against the city or a transit worker.
The court said the exclusive remedy of workers' compensation that shields the city from civil liability also extends to the employee who was driving the bus.
