Louisiana's insurance commissioner has approved an average 8.4% decrease in loss costs, effective in May 2020.
Commissioner James Donelon announced Friday that he had approved the decrease, which was recommended by the National Council on Compensation Insurance.
“This reduction is more welcome news for Louisiana businesses and individuals who purchase workers’ compensation insurance coverage,” Donelon said. “Through improved workplace safety and better risk management practices, these diminishing rates continue to benefit businesses statewide.
