The Florida Division of Workers’ Compensation has finalized a rule that defines which injuries “shock the conscience,” as required by legislation passed more than a year ago.
The rule was mandated by Senate Bill 376, which allows first responders to qualify for benefits if they suffer from post-traumatic stress disorder from witnessing or treating victims who suffered “grievous bodily harm of a nature that shocks the conscience.”
