The Colorado House of Representatives on Monday passed a bill that would allow injured workers to be compensated for post-traumatic stress disorder caused by their job responsibilities.
The House voted 52-11 to pass HB 1229, by Rep. Jonathan Singer, D-Boulder, which would expand the definition of mental impairment to include symptoms of distress caused by workplace events. The measure would also eliminate a statute limiting compensability for post-traumatic stress disorder to events not related to the worker’s typical job responsibilities.
