Attorney Disbarred for Pocketing Claimant's Settlement Checks

The Ohio Supreme Court on Thursday disbarred attorney Brian Wade Harter, of Delaware, Ohio, for stealing money from his clients, including workers’ compensation claimants. The court adopted conclusions by the Board of Professional Conduct that Harter had violated professional conduct rules 26 times, and it approved the board’s recommendation that he be permanently disbarred.  The court’s unsigned opinion notes that Harter had been indicted for trafficking and possession of drugs in 2014, and that the court had suspended his law license in December 2013 because he ...
