Painter Sentenced After Getting Caught Working While Collecting Benefits

A Columbus-area man has been sentenced to five years of community control and must pay $5,000 in restitution after the Ohio Bureau of Workers’ Compensation discovered he was working while collecting benefits. A Franklin County grand jury indicted Michael M. Mitchell, 49, in 2013, but he failed to appear for his arraignment and had a warrant issued for his arrest.  The BWC’s Special Investigations Department Fugitive Task Force partnered with the Franklin County Sheriff’s Office to locate Mitchell, who was taken into custody in March 2016.
