Two defendants who operated companies that referred patients to providers for kickbacks started serving their sentences at a federal prison in Central California last week.
Fermin Iglesias started serving his 60-month sentence at the Taft Correctional Institute on Wednesday, according to court documents and online inmate records. Miguel Morales started serving his 366-day sentence at the same facility on the same day.
Iglesias owned companies including Medex Solutions Inc., Meridian Medical Resources Inc. and Prime Holdings International.
