New health insurance reforms that go into effect Sunday and target the heroin and opioid epidemic in New York dovetail with the state's ongoing efforts to combat addiction within workers’ compensation, experts said Wednesday.
The latest reforms — part of a legislative package of best practices and recommendations — remove “burdensome access barriers” and require small and large group health plans, and individual plans, to cover inpatient treatment for New Yorkers suffering from opioid addiction, Gov.
