A doctor practicing in Staten Island, New York, was charged on Tuesday with accepting bribes in exchange for test referrals as part of a long-running and elaborate scheme, according to federal prosecutors.
Thomas V. Savino, 57, of Staten Island, was indicted by a federal grand jury in Newark, New Jersey, the U.S. Attorney’s Office for the District of New Jersey said in a news release.
