A Florida insurance agent is accused of overbilling a Miami-area employer by inflating quotes and financing the company's policy without the owner's knowledge, the Florida Division of Insurance Fraud said.
Darley Caridad Carballeira, 50, allegedly bilked $167,000 from Key International Inc. through a scheme while working for Insurance Consultants of Dade. She is charged with first-degree grand theft, misappropriated funds and uttering forged documents. Carballeira faces up to 30 years in prison if convicted, the Fraud Division said.
