Presumptions that California lawmakers enacted in 2020 to help determine when COVID-19 arose from employment would remain in place for one more year instead of two, under a recently amended bill.
The COVID-19 presumptions enacted during the first year of the pandemic are scheduled to sunset automatically at the end of the year. AB 1751, by Assemblyman Tom Daly, D-Anaheim, would maintain the presumption until Jan. 1, 2024, under amendments he adopted Thursday.
