The Arena Football League announced it will suspend operations as it considers how to address financial constraints, including a lawsuit alleging the league owes million of dollars for workers’ compensation coverage.
National Union Fire Insurance Co. of Pittsburgh on Oct. 16 filed a complaint in the Supreme Court of New York County alleging that the league, team owners and teams owe it $2.4 million for workers’ compensation coverage provided between 2009 and 2012.
