Five doctors were indicted this week for allegedly taking bribes in exchange for sending patients to clinics run by a man who pleaded guilty to commercial bribery last month, according to the New Jersey Attorney General’s office.
Last month, Rehan “Ray” Zuberi pleaded guilty to giving millions of dollars in kickbacks to doctors in the form of gift cards, office renovations and expensive dinners. In return, the doctors would refer their patients to 10 of Zuberi’s diagnostic imaging centers, according to the Attorney General's office.
