At least one Kentucky city has scrapped a return-to-work program and the state's League of Cities is suggesting that others should follow because of a Kentucky Supreme Court decision that claimants who are assigned to light-duty work while recovering must also be paid their temporary disability benefits.
In Quad/Graphics v. Holguin, the high court ruled on April 2 that Quad/Graphics was not entitled to an offset for the full salary it paid Mario Holguin after the third finger of his left hand was severed in a workplace accident because Holguin was unable to return to his customary duties....
