The transitional governing board of the Florida Workers' Compensation Joint Underwriting Association (FWCJUA) will meet with the Rates and Forms Committee via teleconference on Aug. 17.
The governing board voted July 1 to trim its members from 9 to 5, in the wake of 2007 legislation that revamps the residual carrier to prepare for its application on Jan. 1, 2008, for tax-exempt status with the Internal Revenue Service.
The change removed two board members appointed by the state's 20 largest domestic insurers and two more appointed by the 20 largest foreign carriers.
