A prop manufacturer in New Jersey received a $47,000 fine for not protect its workers from mechanical, chemical and respiratory hazards, the Occupational Safety and Health Administration announced.
Federal safety inspectors received a tip that Prop N Spoon of Rahway was not protecting employees from exposure to chemicals and combustible dust.
The agency inspected Prop N Spoon in February and issued 20 citations last week — 19 serious, one other-than-serious.
Inspectors found:
Unguarded machinery.
Obstructed exit routes.
Combustible dust.
