A federal judge in Idaho ordered the owner of an automotive oil change facility to pay more than $100,000 for firing a worker in retaliation for reporting safety violations, the U.S. Occupational Safety and Health Administration announced.
U.S. District Court Judge B. Lynn Winmill cited Sydney Oskoui for "reprehensible" conduct and ordered him to pay $100,000 in punitive damages and $979 in compensatory damages to a worker at his Gas N Go Lube Center Inc. in Sandpoint.
