Denniston Data Inc. announced the release of a new guide on negotiated medical prices in the U.S.
The company said the data is derived from a transparency rule for Medicare that was included in a 2021 appropriations act. The transparency rule requires most group health plans, health insurance issuers in the group and individual market to disclose price and cost-sharing information to participants, beneficiaries and enrollees.
Phil Denniston, president of DDI, said many states tie work comp payments to the Medicare fee schedule, making the data relevant to work comp system participants.
