Virginia lawmakers will consider authorizing an audit of the workers' compensation system during the spring legislative session, which began Wednesday.
House Joint Resolution No. 544, proposed by Delegate L. Scott Lingamfelter, R-Prince William, would direct Virginia's Joint Legislative Audit and Review Committee to study the workers' compensation system.
The audit would assess whether:
Claims are reviewed and processed in a timely and fair manner.
The dispute resolution process is timely, effective, fair and equitable.
