A Kentucky man pleaded guilty to one count of theft for collecting more than $11,000 in disability benefits while operating his lawn care business, the Ohio Bureau of Workers’ Compensation announced.
Michael Strother, 36, was the subject of a BWC Special Investigations Department probe after an allegation that he owned and operated his business, Eastern Style Lawn Care, while receiving BWC benefits.
The bureau said its investigation found Strother was working for nine months and failed to disclose this to continue collecting temporary total disability benefits.
