Former Co-owner of Premier Medical Dies in Plane Crash

Birger Greg Bacino, who pleaded no contest in 2010 to illegally acquiring workers' compensation patients for Southern California firm Premier Medical Management Systems, was killed in a plane crash last week. The Santa Barbara County Sheriff's Office on Saturday confirmed that Bacino, 56, and 58-year-old pilot David Martz both died in a crash Thursday. The two were flying from Lompoc to Carlsbad when they apparently had engine trouble and crashed in the Los Padres National Forest. The sheriff's office reported receiving a "Mayday" call at about 10 p.m. on Aug. 6. Emerge...
