An Oregon lawmaker introduced legislation that would force the state to relinquish its oversight of workplace safety issues in the state and hand off that responsibility to the federal government.
Rep. Lucetta Elmer, R-McMinnville, introduced House Bill 3778 at the end of February, proposing to eliminate the Oregon Occupational Safety and Health Division. The bill was referred to the state House of Representatives Committee on Labor and Workplace Standards on Tuesday.
