Simi Valley Custodian Sentenced to Jail for Fraudulent Claim

A Southern California custodian who pleaded guilty to making a fraudulent statement to receive workers’ compensation benefits was sentenced to 90 days in county jail. The Ventura County District Attorney’s Office said Garrett Moore, 35, injured his right shoulder in December 2017 while working as a custodian for the Simi Valley Unified School District. He was taken off work and started receiving temporary disability benefits.
