DWC Extends Comment Period for QME Rules

The California Division of Workers’ Compensation revised proposed changes to its qualified evaluator rules and extended the public comment period on the regulations by 15 days. The division in January proposed rules that would create a system for electronic service of medical-legal reports and allow expedited adjudication of QME discipline issues. The rules would also require QMEs complete 16 hours of continuing education credits instead of 12.
