The evacuation of a Louisiana food manufacturing plant led to an inspection by the U.S. Occupational Safety and Health Administration that resulted in $124,000 in fines for safety hazards.
OSHA cited Diversified Foods and Seasonings for 25 serious and one other violation for exposing workers to hazardous chemicals, electrical dangers and fall hazards at its plant in Madisonville.
OSHA said it inspected the plant after an evacuation of the facility sent workers to the hospital as a precaution on Oct. 16, 2015.
