Winter storms that hit Oregon in January drove a nearly threefold increase in the number of slip, trip and fall injuries compared to 2016, according to SAIF Corp.
Oregon’s state-charted workers’ compensation carrier said more than 700 workers filed claims for injuries reportedly sustained by slipping, tripping or falling in snow or ice in the first month of the year. That compares to 250 slip-and-trip claims in January of 2016.
