Measure Would Provide Comp Benefits To Firefighters Who Develop Certain Cancers

A measure has been introduced in the West Virginia Legislature that will give firefighters that develop certain types of cancer the rebuttable presumption that it was contracted on the job.  Under Senate Bill 62, it would be presumed that professional or volunteer firefighters who develop lymphoma or multiple myeloma did so as a result of their work and therefore would be eligible for workers’ comp benefits.
