The Assembly Appropriations Committee approved a bill that would order the California Division of Workers' Compensation to implement a formulary for prescription drugs ahead of a key legislative deadline that passed on Friday.
Two other bills that would have prohibited employers from conducting utilization review on requests for medical treatments that are specified in awards for future medical care and extended presumptions to anyone meeting the Penal Code definition of "safety officer" were not passed ahead of the deadline and are effectively dead for the rest of the year.
