Claimants attorneys in Florida were apoplectic Friday at news that two recent state Supreme Court rulings declaring parts of the workers’ compensation system unconstitutional would require a nearly 20% rate hike proposed by the National Council on Compensation Insurance.
“It shocks any honest, reasonable conscience for this ludicrous rate estimate to be jacked up from an already-unbelievable work of fiction to an even higher number that is simply a flight of fabricated fantasy,” said Mark Touby, president of Florida Workers’ Advocates.
