Maryland workers receiving permanent total disability benefits will see a cost-of-living-adjustment of 2% for 2020, starting in January, the Maryland Workers' Compensation Commission announced in a bulletin.
The COLA has climbed every year since 2011, when it dropped by less than 1%.
The maximum weekly benefit, set at two thirds of a worker's salary for temporary total and permanent total disability but not to exceed the state average weekly wage, has not been set for 2020.
The 2019 maximum is $1,116. If wages follow the same 2% increase, the maximum benefit would rise, to $1,138.32...
