Employers Starts Selling Polices in Hawaii, Completing National Expansion

Employers Holdings Inc. announced that it is selling workers’ compensation policies in Hawaii, a move that completes its national expansion.

The monoline work comp carrier based in Reno, Nevada, is now offering coverage in 46 states and the District of Columbia. The only jurisdictions where Employers doesn’t offer coverage are North Dakota, Ohio, Washington and Wyoming, all of which are monopolistic states.

“We’re excited to provide a competitive workers’ compensation insurance option to small-business owners across the country,” Douglas D. Dirks, president and CEO of Employers Holdings Inc., said in a statement. “Employers started as the Nevada Insurance Fund in 1913 and is now a trusted partner to agents and small-business policyholders nationwide.”

Employers Holdings Inc. is a holding company with subsidiaries that are specialty providers of workers' compensation insurance and services focused on small businesses engaged in low- to medium-hazard industries. Insurance is offered by Employers Insurance Co. of Nevada, Employers Compensation Insurance Co., Employers Preferred Insurance Co. and Employers Assurance Co.
